Welcome to San Antonio Writers Guild

San Antonio Writers Guild is an organization of writers of all kinds and all levels of experience. Our purpose is to share information among all writers and help each other grow in our craft. Through contests, critique and other communication we are a friendly, invaluable fellowship.

COME TO A MEETING

A best first step for any new or established writer, whether you are new to the San Antonio area or have lived here for a long time, is to come to our first-Thursday-of-every-month meeting. There you will find advice, support and encouragement from like-minded people in your area. Each meeting offers workshops, programs and the chance at making new friends, acquaintances and possibly some valuable connections in the industry. Well, it could happen.

USING THIS SITE

Not everyone is as savvy as the next person when it comes to finding one's way around a website. While using this site, there are a few things that you might find helpful:

• Site Map: Some content may not be place where you expect it to be. If that's the case, consult the Site Map page where all the pages are listed. All the pages on the Site Map will be linked, so you can reach the content you're interested in.
• Going Home: You can click anywhere in the top of any page to return to the home page. There is also a Navigational Button (next) that will take you to the home page, too.
• Navigational Buttons: You can click on the bold white links at the left to jump to main category pages.
• More Information: After many paragraphs, you'll find red links with the » symbol. Click the link for more information about the subject or another related topic.
• External Links: As a rule, if a link takes you away from this website, it will show up in a new window. That way, you will still have sawritersguild.org available to you when you at all times. Just close the window that the other site shows up in and this site will return to view.
• Back to Top: back to top links are sprinkled throughout the site. You'll find these helpful for jumping back to the top of the page you're on. I've place one to the right »

• Maps and Directions: Wherever helpful, you'll see Map and Directions links. Click on those to help you find the places being talked about. When you click on Directions, type your address on the MapQuest page that shows up. Click the Get Directions button. MapQuest will show you a list of step-by-step directions from the address you entered to where you're wanting to go. Voila!

A Note Regarding Construction
During this website transition, first excuse the mess. It is nearly impossible to migrate all the text into a new structure without there being some errors, omissions and goodness knows what else. During this transition, and since the email is currently not set up completely, click here to notify me about broken links you find, content you don't find, content you find in an awkward place. Feel free to contact me with things you think would help the site too. Finally, know that nothing of the old site has been lost; it's all been archived. I can retrieve anything from the old site.
