The second Wednesday
of each month the group gathers from 7-9 p.m. at the Barnes and
Noble at IH-10 and DeZavala in the Fiesta Trials Shopping Center.
The group forms up in the back of the bookstore at the study
tables with five to 15 people usually in attendance. This critique
session is included on Barnes & Nobles' calendar of monthly
happenings.
All are encouraged to come whether you have something
to be read/critiqued or not. There is a Starbucks next door to
Barnes & Nobles with easy access from inside the bookstore
for those who need their coffee.

Third & Fourth Wednesdays
Maverick Library at 8700
Mystic Park:
Map / Directions
The critique session is held the
third and fourth Wednesday of each month from 7-9 p.m. at the
Maury Maverick Branch Library located at 8700 Mystic Park. The
session is usually held in the community room off to the immediate
left just as you enter the library. Since the community room
is technically not in the library, you can bring a drink, but
no food. (There is a Starbucks near the Taco Cabana on Bandera
Road.) The library is near the intersection of Guilbeau and Bandera
Roads and near the H.E.B. there. From Loop 410 travel north on
Bandera Road about 3.9 miles and turn left at the light for Mystic
Park. From Loop 1604 travel south on Bandera for about 2 miles
and turn right on Mystic Park.
Visit:
www.sanantonio.gov/library/branch/maverick.asp for the library's
Web site.
Fifth Wednesday
Locations will be announced.
The critique session is
held at the Maverick Library on these few times of the year when
a fifth Wednesday is in the month that is not followed by the
first Thursday of the first month. Check the Web site when this
occurs, because it could be held at B&N or the Westfall library.
(This branch is located on Rosedale at Vance Jackson @ IH-10).

First Wednesday
The session is not held the Wednesday of the
regular SAWG monthly meeting, which is held the first Thursday. Locations
will be announced.
BUT...there is an occasions once every other year or so when
the SAWG meeting is held on the second Thursday (when holidays
interfere) and thus, we'd have an interim critique session on
a first Wednesday. There are also occasions when the second Wednesday
is followed by the first Thursday. (It happens in Nov. of 2007).
We will have a meeting that first Wednesday. Check the Web site
for the location.

Session Format
The critique session follows the same
basic format as the monthly fiction critique workshops, but is
much more laid back. Fiction and non-fiction works are welcome:
ten pages, double-spaced. We suggest bringing along extra copies
so folks can read along.
No need to confirm attendance, just
show up. Guests and non-members of SAWG are welcome, and encouraged
to attend.
