If you are new

with others who share your interest.

book or two but are not yet published, come join us. We have
programs to help you learn what it takes to make that big step
to being published.
If you are published, come join us. You
will find many of our speakers can give you the research information
you need for your next book.
Austin RWA is a friendly, helpful,
fun group dedicated to supporting each other in all stages
of a writing career.

based in Houston, Texas, and is composed of authors (and would-be
authors), editors, designers, artists, printers, publishers,
self-publishers, marketers, distributors, booksellers, Internet

marketing and distribution of books.
The association aims to
assist writers, authors, publishers and trades people in keeping

Every meeting except December is
a speaker format. We have authors, police, coroners, forensic,
experts in fields that relate to crime, the list is endless.
Once a year we have a fund raising dinner with book sale and
donate the money to a literacy program.
We have extra activities
such as a potluck dinner if an author is in town and it is
not our regular meeting time. We do occasionally set up field
trips. We support a trip of mystery to England on a bi-annual
basis. The trip is based on mystery books, authors and events
and will be sponsored by Murder by the Book in Houston

Chapter #33, Region 5 of the Romance Writers of
America® was organized in March of 1983 and offers educational
programs, an informative monthly newsletter, and a friendly
atmosphere for networking, and access of up to date information
on agents, editors and publishers of romantic fiction. NTRWA's
mission is to educate, support, and mentor published and unpublished
members in the profession of romance writing. We are a multi-genre
romance writing group from traditional romance to one of the
most recent sales of our chapter in young adult. Our membership
also includes various published members from book-length non-fiction
and magazine publications.

The Writers'
League of Texas is a nonprofit professional organization whose
primary purpose is to provide a forum for information, support,
and sharing among writers, to help members improve and market
their writing skills, and to promote the interests of writers
and the writing community.
With approximately 1,400 members nationwide,
WLT is composed of published and unpublished writers as well
as those who recognize the written word as art and simply love
to read. Over 50% of the membership base resides outside the
Central Texas area.

The program is about an hour and then there is time for people
to network and meet with the program presenters.
Directions
The bookstore is not that easy to find the first
time. If coming south on Capital of Texas Highway (360), pass
Bee Caves and turn left at the next light and go into the shopping
center (should be Las Cimas Parkway) and take the first (or second)
left -- the one you see buildings -- and go into the parking
lot. Call the bookstore for assistance if you need.
